Yay! It’s blog circle time again! As I’ve mentioned before I am part of a blog circle for photographers called “Outside the Box“! The idea is that each member blogs about the same theme and then we link to each other at the end of the post. The reader can click through the links and “circle” through all of the blogs to see how each photographer interprets the theme. It’s so much fun to see how everyone expresses their own unique vision for the theme so make sure to follow the link in the posts! This month’s theme is “New”.
Since I specialize in newborn photography and birth photography, quite literally everything I shoot is “new”. So this could have been pretty easy for me, but I really wanted to push myself and I decided to try something “new”. I use my macro lens to document little baby details all the time, but I’ve never taken it outside and used it. Since it’s spring and all of the flowers are blooming it was a perfect time to document the “new” life growing all around me here in Vancouver, WA. I had to battle some serious rain showers (as is typical in the Pacific Northwest), but I’m really happy with what I was able to create. Make sure to stop by San Diego Photographer Alicia Countryman‘s blog and check out her “New” blog as well!!
My sweet 4 year old flower hunter and I wandered around until she spotted something.
Then we looked up and saw these beautiful white blossoms
This gorgeous yellow budding bush was one of my favorites. I love the bright yellow, it definitely makes me think of springtime! I loved being able photograph the little rain drops on the flowers too.
Adalynn doesn’t believe me that dandelion’s are weeds, so she insisted I photograph this one while she blew a wish. It’s actually my favorite series of the day! She proves to me that you can find beauty anywhere.
I really have so much fun with these blog circle posts as they always push me out of my comfort zone. I loved trying something “new” this month and couldn’t be happier with the images and the memories we created. Thanks so much for stopping by. Don’t forget to check out San Diego Photographer Alicia Countryman’s blog!
